This time our guests are Txaná Nawá Siã Huni Kuin, his wife Yaka Banu Huni Kuin and his daughter Kaya Huni Kuin.

Meet the family

Meet the representatives of the Huni Kuin People, the so-called True People. The main survivor of the great massacres, of the rubber exploration and the main indigenous people from the brazilian Amazon Rainforest who managed to keep their native language, Hatxakuin, alive.

Nawá Siã Huni Kuin

Nawá Siã, an young spiritual leader and artist of the Huni Kuin people, lives in the Pinuya Village in the Brazilian Amazon.

He stands out as a renowned indigenous musician, with original compositions available on platforms such as Spotify and Bandcamp. His focus is on studying the sacred chants of his culture, and he is dedicated to disseminating this knowledge both nationally, traveling to several states in Brazil, and internationally, having shared the strength of his tradition in nine countries.

Through his life journey, Nawá Siã embodies the vitality of the new generation, serving as an inspiring model for young people who aspire to follow the Huni Kuin spiritual path. His teachings come from the guidance of the shaman Kupi Huni Kuin, an elder whom he reveres as a mentor and guide.

Yaka Banu Huni Kuin

Yaka Banu, born in Pinuya Village, is a talented artist and part of the group mawa_isa_keneya_pinuya . Her work not only promotes gender equality, but also strengthens the ancestral traditions of Huni Kuin women.

On his second journey through Brazil, Yaka seeks to expand her knowledge and share her skills and spiritual studies. Her grandfather, the Kupi shaman, is her main source of wisdom, transmitting the values she represents in her work.

This youngster is joining her parents on this big exiting journey. She is only 4 years old with a little sassy energy.

She is coming along with her parents to melt our hearts with her cuteness!

Why we host the Huni Kuin

The Deep Dive special with the Huni

is a calling to invite the tribe,

and help carry their wisdom

into the world.

It is our mission of service — to create an healing space where we can come together to heal, learn, and co-create.

At the heart of this mission is a commitment to walk in harmony with the Earth, and to honor the Indigenous communities who have lived in deep relationship with the land for generations. Communities whose ways of knowing have protected the Amazon — long before it was called the “lungs of the planet.”

Their voices are not echoes of the past. They are living calls to protect what remains, and to restore what has been lost.

We’re honored to host them, so that their voice, their presence, and their prayer can continue to echo far beyond the retreat.

With a lot of gratitude in our heart, we donate all of the profit of this Deep Dive Retreat to the Huni Kuin tribe.
